Scientific name: Lespisma sacchrina (Linnaeus).
Silverfish is of length 1/2inch long with silvery color over its surface. Silverfish fed on the materials which have high content of protein sugar and starch including cereals which are readily found in the starch of book bindings, sizing in paper and the paper on which there is glue, which is used for sticking purpose.
