It is not impossible to list all pest ant species but, here are only few of them:
(you are more than welcome to add to this list, pm admin)

Name: Acrobat ants
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Crematogaster spp.
Acrobat ants typically nest in wood which has been subjected to high moisture and fungal decay.

Name: Allegheny mound ant
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Formica exsectides Forel
Allegheny mound ants do not enter structures but, can be found around homes located near fields and woods.

Name: Argentine ant
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Iridomyrmex humilis (Mayr)
Argentine ant colonies are located in moist situations near a food source. Argentine ants usually nest near a moisture source such as water pipes, sinks, potted plants etc.

Name: Bigheaded ants
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Pheidole spp.
Bigheaded ants only occasionally invade structures and usually nest in soil surrounding structures.

Name: Carpenter ants
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Camponotus spp.
Carpenter ants nests are located in wood, in insulation and/or in wall voids.

Name: Cornfield or Moisture ant
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Lasius alienus (Foerster)
Cornfield or Moisture ants nest in areas of moist and rotting wood. Such areas may often be found in bathrooms behind tub wall tiles or in the bath trap, in damp crawl spaces etc.

Name: Crazy ant
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Paratrechina longicornis (Latreille)
Crazy ants usually nest inside underneath the floor and in wall voids, especially near hot water pipes and heaters. Outside the crazy ants nest are usually located in soil under objects or in such places.

Name: Field ant
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Formica spp.
Field ants construct their nest in cracks of sidewalls, along foundation walls, at the base of trees etc.

Name: Fire ant
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Solenopsis spp.
Fire ants aare typically ground nesting ants but, the southern fire ants will sometimes nest in the wood or masonry of buildings.

Name: Ghost ant
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Tapinoma melanocephalum (Fabricius)
Ghost ants nests are usually located in cavities or voids, or in the soil.

Name: Harvester ants
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Pogonomyrmex spp.
Harvester ants do not invade structures but, are an urban pest because they will build their nest near structures or in yards and then strip/denude large areas of vegetation.

Name: Leaf cutting, fungus-growing, fungus, parasol, pack, night and cut ants

Scientific name: Atta spp.
These ants build their nests only in soil, usually in well-drained sandy or loamy soiles.

Scientific name: Wasmannia auropunctata (Roger)
Little fire ants do not seem to form definite underground nests but, instead appear in clusters beneath objcts and in cracks and crevices.

Name: Odorous house ants
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Tapinoma sessile (Say)
Odorous house ants usually construct their nest in wall voids especially around hot water pipes and heaters, in crevices around sinks, cupboards etc.

Name: Pavement ant
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Tetramorium ceaspiltum (Linnaeus)
Pavement ants will occasionally nest in walls, in insulation, and under floors. The most likely place is in ground level masonry walls of foundation and especially near some heat source in the winter.

Name: Pharaoh ant

Scientific name: Monomorium pharaonis (Linnaeus)
Pharaoh ants nest inside in warm and humid area near sources of food. Outside they donīt nest in cold areas.

Name: Pyramid ants

Pyramid ants nest in soil, usually in open sunny areas.

Name: Small honey, false honey ants
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Prenolepis impairs (Say)
Small honey ants nest usually in soil, in shady moist areas.

Name: Thief ant
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Solennopsis molesta (Say)
Thief ants nest in small crevices and in woodwork and masonry. Outside they nest in exposed soil or under objects, in trash, rotten wood and cavities in trees.

Name: Velvety tree ants
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Liometopum spp.
Velvety tree ants are major pest of picnickers.

Name: Yellow or moisture ants
Family: Insecta / Hymenoptera / Formicidae
Scientific name: Acanthomyops spp.
Yellow or moisture ants nest in areas of moist and rotting wood. Such areas may often be found in bathrooms behind tub wall tiles or in the bath trap, in damp crawl spaces etc.
